THE SEGUNDO BARRIO BLOCK PARTY, IS A BI-ANNUAL EVENT THAT BRINGS TOGETHER RESIDENTS AND LOCAL BUSINESSES FROM THE COMMUNITY TO SUPPORT OVER A DOZEN LOCAL ARTISTS IN SHOWCASING THEIR TALENTS IN A ROTATING PUBLIC OUTDOOR GALLERY.

over the course of 5 block parties.

This event brings together artists, local businesses, and residents from the neighborhood to celebrate art and heritage through a rotating mural gallery on Eastwood and Canal Street. The block party features over twenty artists live painting, classic cars cruising, live music, an art exhibition and local vendors, drawing large crowds—over 2000 people attended the most recent event. It’s an opportunity for the community to come together, strengthen bonds and celebrate the neighborhood’s rich history of culture and art.

This art gallery is a collaborative project that was initiated for SBBP 4, by The Open Door Gallery and Divine Art Coalition. Held in the Second Ward of Houston, Texas. This gallery aims to bring together the community in the East End as well as other Houstonians across the city through multi-media and interactive art.
